All over the world, libraries are in trouble. Not philosophical trouble, but real-live “doors are closing” trouble.

One of my only recently discovered and favorite authors, Karin Slaughter, is doing something about it. And because authors know how important libraries are, a bunch of them have donated character names to an auction to benefit the DeKalb County (GA) Libraries.
That’s right…you can have a character named after you in a book by Karin Slaughter, Lee Child, Lisa Unger, Alex Kava, Mark Billingham, Mo Hayder, Mary Kay Andrews, Alafair Burke, Mary Jane Clark, or Tess Gerritsen.
Go here to check it out…and if bidding on a character name is a bit too pricey, consider a coffee mug or a t-shirt, or whatever donation you can make.
